College students strutted their stuff as they aimed to highlight domestic violence at an urban beach party.
The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London’s Prince’s Trust students helped to create awareness of domestic violence last week as they managed a stand at the Moneywise CA Beach event at Haringey’s Ducketts Common.
Students showed off their design talents being holding their own fashion show and performed their favourite songs to a crowd of almost 200 people.
Jake Elgar, one of the students on the programme, said: “As a team, we’ve worked really hard and to see this come together today is great and really fulfilling”.
Team Leader Aaron Toomey said “I really enjoyed my time when I was doing the Prince’s Trust and it has helped me in so many ways.
“I really wanted to give back, so I volunteered to help out.”
The event was hosted as part of their 12-week Prince’s Trust course, which requires students to take part in a community project to tackle issues that affect them and the community.
