A man has been sentenced after a road rage incident in Edmonton.

Christopher Craig, 24, of Hyde Park Avenue, in Winchmore Hill, was given a suspended sentence of 12 weeks, ordered to attend an anger management course and given 100 hours' community service after pleading guilty to criminal damage and affray.

A 23-year-old man and his passenger saw Craig walking down the middle of the road as they drove down Silver Street, in Edmonton, on Friday, July 11.

The driver bibbed and Craig verbally abused the driver before jumping into his car and followed the victim to the junction of the A406.

Craig got out his car and demanded the victim got out his car as he threatened to kill him.

He walked to the car door, kicking the door and breaking the wing mirror before returning to his own car where he took the baseball bat from his car boot.

The victim drove off unharmed.

Craig was traced through information held at DVLA and arrested on July 30, 2014.

Investigating officer PC Daniel Mount said:  "The victim was travelling home from work and, in an unprovoked attack, had his vehicle violently damaged after being chased by Craig in another vehicle.

"Craig threatened the victim with a baseball bat stating that he was going to kill him. I can only imagine how frightened the victim must have been at the time."
