From bookish bears to literate leopards, libraries have been recognised for their unique ways of brightening up their cards.
Libraries in Harrow have been recognised for having some of the best library cards in London.
Illustrator Jackie Morris designed the cards for Harrow, Ealing, Hounslow and Croydon after being commissioned by Cultural Communications Solutions, which manages the libraries on behalf of the councils.
Designs feature animals, such as wolves, rabbits and polar bears, all reading books.
The boroughs were ranked in first-place by The Guardian, which compiled a list of the top ten best cards in the capital.
