Sporting greats joined estate agents and solicitors to raise more than £5,000 for children with a charity football match.

Joseph Scott, in Deans Lane, Mill Hill, and Axiom Stone, in Spring Villa Road, Edgware, played a ten-goal match at Watford FC in Vicarage Road, Watford.

They were joined by Luther Blissett, England and Arsenal legend Paul Merson, World Cup winners Ossie Ardiles, Ricky Villa, Micky Hazard, Glen Little and Nicky Shorey.

Their match raised £5,300 for Action for Kids, which supports neglected and vulnerable children, and Dreamflight, which sends seriously ill children on holiday.

Paul Merson and Luther Blissett’s team won the match with a score of 6-4.

At half time the celebrities presented medals to all the children in a penalty shootout before posing for photos and signing autographs with all the spectators.

Winning captain Jose Faldes, from Joseph Scott, said: "We all had a fantastic day,the kids loved going on the pitch at half time and I was lucky enough to play alongside Paul Merson."

Pragnesh Modhwadia from Axiom Stone said: “This is the 3rd year we have been involved and it gets better each year, they really are two great charities.”
