A busy main road was flooded with up to three feet in water after a water main burst.
Green Lanes, in Harringay, is under water at the junction with St Ann's Road - outside the Salisbury pub - after a water main burst yesterday evening.
Water company Thames Water was made aware of the flooding at around 5pm and sent staff to turn off the supply, while roads have been closed southbound at West Green Road and northbound at St Ann's Road.
Neighbours have taken to social media to react to the floods, with one claiming that firefighters were giving piggybacks to those stranded in the waters.
Twitter user @buecherkeksi said: "Going by my wellies, it's about 20cm maybe, more in the middle I guess.
"It's quiet in the eye of the hurricane but walking down from Manor House earlier was busy.
"Where it's too deep people put pallets out and the firefighters are carrying people."
