Police have urged Londoners and tourists to be vigilant during today's (April 25) London Marathon following alleged plans to attack yesterday's (April 26) Anzac Day commemorations.

Met Police officials are encouraging members of the public to report anything suspicious to an anti-terrorist hotline following the increase of the UK's international threat level to 'severe'.

Deputy Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu said:"In light of recent alleged plans to attack Anzac Day events and police officers overseas - we are reminding the public to be vigilant.

"While there is no information to suggest a specific threat to these events in the UK - and the current national threat level remains unchanged - we would like to reiterate our long-standing advice to remain vigilant and alert.
