A 45-year-old man charged with seriously assaulting a man on Wimbledon Common pleaded not guilty in court today.
Taras Nykolyn, also known as Giedirus Arslanovas, was arrested on Thursday, June 19, following a reported early-morning assault near the Windmill Cafe.
London Ambulance weres called to the Common at about 6.40am and Roger Maxwell, reported to be in his 50s, was taken to hospital with a facial injury.
Mr Nykolyn, of Meredith Street, Plaistow, was later charged with causing grievous bodily harm to Mr Maxwell with intent to do him grievous bodily harm.
Appearing in Kingston Crown Court this afternoon, he denied the offence.
He is due to return to return to court for trial on Wednesday, December 10.
