People will soon have access to data ranging from tree locations to population projections.
Barnet Borough Council has launched a new database, called Open Barnet, to publish data and information about a range of council services.
The authority's leader, Councillor Richard Cornelius, said: “I am a great believer that this isn’t really council data, but rather that it is public information. It belongs to the people of Barnet.
“This new facility moves beyond simply holding the council to account. Much of this information can have an economic and social value in the hands of third parties.
“I’d very much like to hear from residents, businesses and the voluntary sector about any other information they would like the council to publish in this form.”
