A scheme to help children and teenagers get fit has received a £194,000 grant.
SHAPE – Sport, Health, Action, Physical Activity and Employability - has been set up with Sports England, the Saracens Foundation and Middlesex University, in Hendon.
The group was given the cash from Sport England, supported by the National Lottery.
It will work with voluntary and community organisations in Colindale and Burnt Oak to encourage more people to take up sport.
People will be able to take part on basketball, boxing, athletics, self defence and dance.
The £194,000 will be combined with money from Barnet Borough Council’s public health department, Saracens and Middlesex University, totalling £300,000.
