A mental wellbeing charity has teamed up with Kingston Council to create an online survey for parents of children with mental health issues.
Together's consultation is designed to gauge both undiagnosed issues and those already being treated, including emotional distress.
It will help develop a pilot support service for parents and their children.
Project leader Debbie Roberts said: "Asking parents directly, 'What do you want, what do you need, what's there for you?' gives you a direct answer from the lived experience.
"If they get the support and the information that they need, then they're in a better place to help their young people."
The consultation will run until early next month.
