Edgware pupils sing for David Cameron
Children held a “superb” concert for David Cameron at a special Chanukah event this week.
Pupils from Beit Shvidler Primary School, in Hale Lane, Edgware, were asked to sing at the Downing Street Chanukah party in front of the Prime Minister and the Chief Rabbi.
The year six students were greeted at the front door by Government Chief Whip, Sir George Young, and Matthew Gould, Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Israel.
More than 200 people including MPs, Lords, Bishops were all invited to take part with the event.
Mr Cameron handed out chocolate and chatted with the children, posed for photos and shook their hands.
The children were then invited to a private tour of the Cabinet Room, along with Mr and Mrs Shvidler, teachers and governors from the school.
Ms Keen, headteacher of Beit Shvidler said: "It was a really superb visit. The pupils were an amazing credit to the school and they all enjoyed a unique experience.
“This was an important educational experience which showed the children the enormous privilege we have that we live in a country where the prime minister invites the Jewish community to publicly celebrate Chanukah."
