Kingston Choral Society will return to a London concert hall to perform Joseph Haydn’s masterpiece The Creation in English.

The choir will be back at Cadogan Hall in Chelsea on Saturday, November 16, accompanied by Thames Sinfonia and a trio of distinguished soloists.

Award-winning young soprano Sophie Bevan, tenor Robert Murray and bass David Soar will join the mixed-voice ensemble as they perform Haydn’s classic oratorio.

Andrew Griffiths will conduct.

The Creation is the story of the beginning of earth, inspired by the book of Genesis as well as John Milton’s Paradise Lost.

Ruth Bolton, publicity secretary for Kingston Choral Society, said: “From the opening depiction of chaos to the joyous love-song of Adam and Eve, Haydn’s musical invention is truly breathtaking.

"A superb trio of soloists, including Sophie Bevan, winner of the Young Singer award at the 2013 International Opera Awards, joins us to bring this superb work to life.”
