MET Police figures show the crime rate in Lewisham has fallen over the past year.
Annual statistics show a 4.2 per cent reduction of 1,146 offences in Lewisham.
Gun crime is down by 13 offences in Lewisham a 6.1 per cent drop.
Mugging is up by 477 reported incidents in Lewisham a rise of 28.3 per cent.
Police have blamed the increase on people carrying MP3 players and phones.
The figures relate to offences committed between March 2005 and March this year.
