TELEVISION presenter Anne Diamond, darts legend Bobby George and astrologer to the stars, Russell Grant, are just three of the celebrities making regular appearances at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre in recent weeks.

The new ITV series of Celebrity Fit Club, featuring Vanessa Feltz and Marlow resident Paul Ross as panellists, is being filmed at Bisham Abbey.

The series started in January, and continues for nine weeks, until the grand final is filmed there in front of a live audience.

In every episode the eight celebrities congregate in the Great Hall at Bisham Abbey to face the Scales of Truth, where they are divided into teams and weighed against each other on the 15ft high contraption.

All of the sports facilities will be put to use by the overweight celebs. They have already been put to work on the tennis courts and fitness equipment.

Paul Ross said: "I was on the panel a few weeks ago, and have been invited to appear in the Fit Club Olympics, which will be a walk in the park. We first got to know Bisham last year when I was filming at Bisham Abbey. It's a beautiful place, which is why we bought a house here. I have been following this series of the show, and really like Micky Quinn and Sharon Marshall, who is a good friend of mine. But Anne Diamond won't be on my Christmas list. There are no quick fixes in Fit Club, you have to work hard.

"I was never obese, but developed a bit of a gut when supermarkets started selling cheap crates of beer. So last year for the show I had no lager in the house Monday to Friday, and the weight came off quite quickly. I was very disciplined, but you have to be. It's a serious business."
