ANTI-British National Party campaigners were out in The Broadway, Loughton, on Saturday leafleting people not to support the party.

Redbridge and Epping Forest Together members were joined by Liberal Democrat, Labour Party and independent representatives to hand out flyers criticising the organisation which won three district council seats in Loughton in the last local council elections.

Campaign represenative David Landau said: "Redbridge and Epping Forest Together was formed by people in Epping Forest who were concerned about the election of BNP councillors in Loughton and in Redbridge. We regard them as a threat to community and race relations, scapegoating vulnerable and minority groups of people for the problems that people face.

"In particular Redbridge and Epping Forest Together is concerned to prevent such movements having an influence in local and constituency politics in the borough of Redbridge and the district of Epping Forest."
