A 12-YEAR-OLD girl fought off a man after he tried to drag her into his car in broad daylight.

Now, schools fear the assault, which happened between 3.30pm and 4.30pm last Friday, could be linked to another incident which took place on Monday.

Then, a man approached three youngsters on two seperate occasions in the grounds of a school.

Friday's terrifying attack hap-pened when the girl was walking along Whitefield Lane in Great Missenden. She managed to escape by breaking free from the man's grip and ran away.

In September, the Free Press reported a similar incident just a few miles away from the latest attempted abduction, in the neighbouring village of Holmer Green, when a man tried to grab a ten-year-old.

Jonathan Howard-Drake, head-master of The Misbourne School in Misbourne Drive, Great Missenden, warned pupils to be on their guard and sent letters home to parents informing them of the incidents.

Rozalyn Thomson, headteacher of Great Missenden Church of England School in Church Street, spoke to pupils in assembly.

She said "We gave the children an exact description of the car and the man, and I spoke to them about not getting into the car of or even talking to someone unless they know who they are. I could not hold back on this even though we do not want to raise the alarm with little children but you have to let them know not to go off with anyone."

Police say they are only aware of one incident in Great Missenden, the one on Friday.

Dennis Canty, assistant head-teacher of Holmer Green Senior School in Parish Piece, said: "We are following the guidelines laid down by Bucks County Council and have sent letters home to all parents urging extra vigilance and care. Additionally we have addressed the matter of staying safe in assemblies and through tutor groups. We have a presence of staff at the school gates before and after school also."

Sue Huntley, headteacher of Holmer Green Infant School, in Watchet Lane, said: "When we hear about incidents we make sure parents get to know about it that is an ongoing policy."

Police are searching for a man of Asian or mixed race and around 20 years old. He is described as thin, with long, dark hair. He was wearing a necklace and bracelets.

His car is a left-hand drive, possibly a saloon, and has tinted or blacked-out windows, a broken, offside wing mirror, and an unusual car decoration on display.
