A trainee reporter at the Borehamwood & Elstree Times has received an award for her journalism.
Reporter Louisa Barnett had cause to celebrate after being named Best News Journalist in the Free Weekly Newspapers category at the Newspaper Society Weekly Awards on Thursday (October 20).
It was quite an achievement for Louisa, as this was a senior category, and she was chosen in preference to journalists with up to twenty years' experience.
The Borehamwood & Elstree Times was runner-up in the Best Free Weekly Newspaper in the South-East category.
The Watford Observer was runner-up in the Best Paid-For Weekly Newspaper in the South East.
Judges' comment on Louisa: "The judges were very impressed by the winner's hard work in building up good relationships with an extensive list of contacts, ensuring that she never missed a good story."
