A PENSIONER has been hospitalised by a gang of teenage thugs who robbed her of her handbag in an alleyway attack.

The 63-year-old was walking through the passageway leading from Wellington Street to Parrock Street, Gravesend, when seven yobs approached her at around 8.20pm.

Before making off with her bag the youths pushed her to the floor, injuring her hip.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Glenn Blanchard said: "This was a cowardly attack which has caused the victim a great pain.

"She will have to remain in hospital for the foreseeable future."
