POLICE are appealing for witnesses following after a bogus cab driver sexually assaulted a 19-year-old woman in South Woodford.
The victim got into the back of a people carrier, which had a dark top with a silver bottom half, outside O'Neill's pub in Leytonstone High Road.
The car was driven through South Woodford on the A406 before stopping outside the Harvester restaurant in Roding Lane North where the woman was attacked by the driver.
Afterwards she managed to escape as the car was being driven down Roding Lane South. The driver then did a U-turn and went back down the A406.
The attacker is described as a 30-year-old slim Asian man with black hair and stubble.
Anyone with information about the attack, which happened at 1.30am on Saturday, August 13, should call DC David Taylor on 8345 2733.
