A BLACK plastic toy gun was used to terrorise and rape a teenage girl as she made her way home from a night out in Kingston, a court heard.

The 19 year-old virgin, who lives with her family in Richmond and cannot be named for legal reasons, was picked up at a bus-stop near Oceana night club and taken to a car park in Bell Road on the Twickenham Trading Estate where she was raped twice by 18 year-old Farid Taran.

"He did it at gun-point," prosecutor Jonathan Hall told the jury at Isleworth Crown Court. Unknown to his victim, "it was a toy gun - black plastic," he added.

Taran, of Summerwood Rd, Isleworth, a student at Richmond upon Thames College, was found guilty of two charges of raping her on July 15 last year and was remanded in custody for reports.

His victim did not know him and had been drinking heavily with friends at the nightclub that evening, said counsel.

"She left the club in the early hours intending to go home. She waited for a number 65 bus and parked near the bus-stop was a rather sporty red car with this defendant in the driving seat. As she made a call on her mobile phone which he overheard, he started chatting to her and asked if she was talking to her boyfriend," said counsel.

"He offered to get some cigarettes and suggested they go to a petrol station down the road. Very unwisely, she got into his car. She was drunk. There were other people around and she felt safe.

"The defendant drove her to the Bell Road car park, not to his home or to hers. Then he stopped the car. He tried to kiss her and she said 'no'. He centrally locked the doors and she could not open them. She tried to get her phone out but he threw it aside.

"He got on top of her and got the gun out. 'Do you want to die?' he asked. He ordered her into the back seat. She begged him not to. He pushed her into the back and kneeled over her. He pulled down his trousers, pushed aside her underwear and raped her. He told her the quicker it was done the quicker he would take her home.

"Then he put the gun between her legs and raped her again," said counsel. "She was begging him not to do it. She asked him why? He said he hadn't had sex for ages. He told her to get out. She left her phone, purse and driving licence in his car.

"She was frightened. He told her not to look back or he would shoot her and he drove out of the car park. "

The movements of his car were caught on CCTV at the car park.

The young woman, bleeding and in a distressed state, flagged down a police car and asked to get in. She told officers she was worried about being shot'. She was also worried because the rapist had her address and phone. She was taken to hospital where an examination showed injuries consistent with rape. DNA from the defendant was also found.

Taran was arrested about 15 days later in a red BMW on Twickenham Road. The plastic gun was found in his car and the victim's mobile phone was found at his home.

Questioned by police he agreed he had picked the woman up and offered to drive her home. But he said she was touching him as he drove and when they went into the car park she made all the running and they had consensual sex.

The jury did not believe him and he was found guilty. He will be sentenced next month.
