Cabbies hail a free ride at London Zoo
London Zoo is giving the capital's cab drivers a free ride by offering them and their families the chance to experience the zoo on the house.
Between May 9 and 12 cab drivers and their families will have free entry to ZSL London Zoo - taking a break from the hustle and bustle of busy roads.
The offer also extends to London's concierge workforce, who are invited to stop worrying about their guests and be someone else's guest for a change.
Spokesman Simon Rayner said: "Cab drivers in London are some of the friendliest, chattiest people you can meet and they will often be the first face that tourists see when they arrive in the capital.
"As one of London's biggest tourist attractions, we want to take advantage of cabbies' talkative nature and let them experience a great family day out that's worth talking about to their many cab passengers."
Last year more than 1500 cabbies and their families got up close and personal to the animals at ZSL London Zoo.
Visitors can take a flight to the Zoo's brand new Blackburn Pavilion and stroll through the tropical birdhouse, enjoying the sights and sounds of the forest sky and get close to the free-flying exotic birds including toucans and lovebirds.
