Children created their own magical myths about the history of a woodland they visited during a fun day.

Young visitors to Jeskyns Community Woodland and Greenspace in Cobham explored an enormous sandpit and a giant tree house last Tuesday.

Tasked with imagining the history of the woodland site, they decided that it was once populated by a beast which was half tiger and half yeti.

The adventure was part of holiday activities run by environmental charity Groundwork Kent & Medway.

Around 10 children aged from six to 11 took part in the day.

Groundwork education officer Paul Koch said: "This was a great opportunity for children to discover Jeskyns and to create interesting stories.
