BROMLEY: Celebrating borough’s green helpers

Gardeners, photographers and artists are being given reason to celebrate with a new competition.

The Beautiful Bromley competition has been launched as part of Bromley Council's Celebrate Bromley campaign, highlighting the borough's green efforts.

Various categories have been sponsored by local businesses and charities to give prizes to those who have impacted on Bromley's green projects.

Patrick Phillips, the council's head of parks and open spaces, said: "Beautiful Bromley is not just a competition for our expert horticulturalists.

"We are also looking for people whose talents help others appreciate their local green patch, such as artists, poets and photographers."

The People for Parks and Sustainable Living awards, celebrating friends of parks groups and allotment holders, are also being organised as part of Celebrate Bromley.

Awards ceremonies will be held over three days in September.

Celebrate Bromley application forms are available from council facilities across the borough.
