Do you have an open garden square near you that reflects the beauty and diversity of London’s green spaces?
London Parks & Gardens Trust is looking for new gardens to take part in an Open Garden Squares Weekend next June.
So far Culverley Green in Culverley Road, Catford and Devonshire Road Wildlife Garden in Devonshire Road, Forest Hill are the only two gardens in the News Shopper area taking part in the event on June 13 and 14.
The closing date for new gardens is the end of February.
In 2008, more than 170 gardens across London participated.
Val Burton, Event Co-ordinator, said: "Open Garden Squares Weekend allows access on one weekend each year to the private green spaces in London.
“The weekend's objective is to increase the public awareness of little known communal and public gardens.
“Their amazing variety reflects the diversity of the capital's population, culture, history and environment.
Private domestic gardens, are not included in the event as these are well represented under the National Gardens Scheme.
