Litter levels in Barnet are falling according to government inspectors.
The audit - which passed 300 of the borough’s streets and open spaces, rated them above the acceptable level.
The government’s NI195 rating system grades from A-D - with anything from B or below classed as unacceptable.
Six percent of the sites inspected throughout November had unacceptable levels of graffiti, with six percent failing on levels of detritus - natural waste such as leaf mulch and mud.
Every three months Barnet’s 833 kilometres of road are monitored for levels of litter, fly posting, graffiti and detritus.
None of the 300 sites had unacceptable levels of fly posting.
The results follow Barnet’s Clean Borough Strategy of 2007 which implemented a street cleaning regime aimed at increasing the number of town keepers and dedicated cleaners for litter "hot spots".
Councillor Andrew Harper, cabinet member for environment and transport, said: “We take very seriously the importance of providing clean litter free streets for Barnet residents to live in and walk through.”
