A new unit will help children who have difficulty mixing with others.
Midfield Primary School, Grovelands Road, St Paul's Cray, has opened a unit for pupils with severe social difficulties, mainly those with autism, using £250,000 funding from Bromley Council.
It contains two classrooms, an outdoor play area, a withdrawal room, where pupils can relax by themselves, a therapy room, a hygiene room and a sensory room.
Midfield headteacher Wendy Seeley said: "We just had basic classrooms, but autistic pupils need to be taken into a quiet area and there was nothing like that before.
"This new unit is ideal for them now. The children are all very happy and very proud."
Bromley Council's assistant director of access and inclusion, Karen Fletcher-Wright, cut the ribbon on the new unit at an opening event attended by parents, governors and teachers.
