Moor Lane Junior School in Chessington is set to begin a new life as a centre for children with disabilities.
The centre aims to cut out the need for disabled children and their families to traipse across Kingston to meet appointments.
GPs, consultants, nurses, therapists, social workers and special needs teachers will be able to hold appointments under one roof.
Last week, councillors on the south of the borough neighbourhood committee put £100,000 towards a playground next to the centre, out of money from Kingston’s share of a national £1.1m Playbuilder scheme.
