The MP for Esher and Walton is backing calls for fairer funding for sixth form colleges.
Dominic Raab is one of 75 MPs who signed a letter sent to Education Secretary Nicky Morgan.
Sixth Form colleges are currently required to pay VAT on their purchases. Schools and academies can reclaim these costs.
The letter calls for a VAT refund scheme for Sixth Form colleges.
Mr Raab said: "We've got some great, truly innovative sixth form colleges like Esher College. It's only fair that they have a level playing field with school sixth forms when it comes to tax treatment.
"We need a broad, diverse, range of options for youngsters and the VAT issue is a modest but important part of ensuring that's the case."
