Teddy bears, pyjamas and sleeping bags filled a Teddington primary school for its annual sleepover.

More than 120 children from years 1 and 2 at Stanley Primary School bedded down next to their classmates for the night to help raise funds for the school's arts project.

Ian Dickinson, headteacher, said: "For some of the children it is their first night away from home and it is wonderful to see them planning which teddies to bring, who they want to sleep next to and what games they are going to play.

"When you consider how many children attend the event, everyone gets a surprisingly good night’s sleep and it is the main topic of conversation for many days afterwards.

"The staff are particularly amazing, staying up all night to make sure everyone is happy and that they are all reunited with their belongings before they go home in the morning."
