Two East Sheen primary school pupils will be taken on a 1,000-mile trip of a lifetime in Vietnam, to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

Darell Primary School pupils Bluebelle Hills, six, and her brother Albion, three, will do the Ho Chi Minh Trail Challenge between March 27 and April 10.

Their parents, Virginia Morris and Clive Hills, will be cycling half of the challenge each while the children will be along for the whole ride.

Mr Hills said: "We have chosen to fundraise for the British Heart Foundation because I had quadruple bypass operation in 2013, and thanks to their good work we can all enjoy a family life for many years to come."

The trail is one of the most heavily bombed mountain ranges in the world, and was the north vietnamese logistical supply line built and used during the Vietnam War.

Deborah Lane, acting headteacher at Darell Primary School, said: “We hope that they will benefit from seeing how different life is in Laos and Vietnam, and that on their return they can share their experiences with others in the school.”
