A Thamesmead school has unveiled its new community room which will help parents access nearby services.

Bexley Mayor Councillor Howard Marriner opened the facility at Parkway Primary School in Alsike Road, Erith.

The community room enables parents to come in to school to use the computers, as well as finding out more about services and providing information about charities and businesses the school works with.

Headteacher Nicole Bradley said: "It was a huge honour for the school to welcome the Mayor.

"We are hugely proud of our new community room and the extra services that we are able to provide for our parents."
