The Bishop of Kensington, reverend Paul Williams, cut the ribbon to open a Hampton Wick school’s new building.
St John the Baptist school in Lower Teddington Road opened the Craigie Building on October 1, with guests including MP for Twickenham Vince Cable, governors, parents and past pupils.
The new building is named after former pupil Malcolm Lugard Craigie, who gave his life saving his commanding officer during the Boer War in 1900, and will allow the school to admit an additional year three class and eventually raise school places from 240 to 360.
Headteacher Susan Sawyer said: "It’s marvelous, we have a magnificent extended hall, new library, new science food-tech room and new toilet block in our main school."
