A Blackheath school is expanding into Deptford, taking over a site shut down by the council five years ago.
Governors of Invicta Primary School has launched a consultation on its plans for the old Charlotte Turner site in Benbow Street - due to take effect from September 1 next year.
The extra building will enable Invicta to double its pupils, offering 420 more places.
According to a statement by the school, Greenwich Council has committed £1m to refurbish the Deptford building.
Charlotte Turner was shut down by the council in 2009 after inspectors branded the 238-pupil school inadequate in every area, sparking protests by angry parents who stormed into the town hall council chamber, forcing councillors to abandon a meeting.
In contrast, Invicta was judged outstanding in its most recent Ofsted inspection.
