The doors are opening this week to the senior department at Cobham Free School.
Having merged with the existing primary to form an all-through school, it will educate 1,008 young people from the Cobham area when full.
Michaela Khatib, executive head of Cobham Free School, said: "We have been looking forward to the day when we would welcome out first cohort of pupils for many months.
"A huge amount of hard work has been undertaken during the pre-opening phase to ensure that all is in place for our new students and we are very excited about delivering our vision for excellent secondary school provision at last."
