A sixth form student has won an award for his work to help those suffering with mental health problems.

He was awarded the first ever Young Person of the Year Award for London at an event last week which was voted for by a range of MPs, sponsors and past winners from other areas of the country.

Aiden McNulty, who attends John Fisher School, set up the TalkEasy Trust during his GCSEs to support young people who have mental health issues.

With the help of his team, Mr McNulty trained mentors who go into schools across Sutton and Croydon to work with young people.

The trust also received a Croydon Champions Award in 2013 for Team of the Year.
