Pupils will be given personal finance lessons in preparation of financial education becoming a core part of the national curriculum.
The sixth annual My Money Week, run by the Personal Finance Education Group (PFEG), takes place from June 9 to 15, offering teachers the opportunity to use topical news stories and online resources to improve the financial knowledge of children aged four to 19.
PFEG chief executive Tracey Bleakley said: “Last year My Money Week helped 1.3m young people learn more about managing money – something that we know is going to be so important to their life prospects in the future.
“From this September financial education will finally become a compulsory part of the national curriculum.
“This year’s My Money Week gives teachers an ideal opportunity to give their pupils a head start in learning these vital life skills.”
