Swindon-based Intel has won the award for best work experience provider as nominated by a careers adviser or placement tutor at the National Council For Work Experience's annual awards.

The awards span seven different categories covering every business size and sector and include nominations from students and careers advisers.

NCWE director Liz Rhodes said: "We are delighted to have presented the award to Intel Corporation (UK) "We chose this company because its commitment to providing quality work experience placements, which offer students the chance to broaden their portfolio of transferable skills and make a real contribution to the business.

"Intel stands as an example of how businesses in Swindon can offer placements which both challenge and educate."

Anne-Marie Thorpe, college programme manager at Intel, said: "We are really thrilled that we've won this award.

"We entered the awards because we felt our placement scheme offered something distinctive and of real value to the students who choose to participate.

"Through the scheme we've tried to pass on some of our company values, providing students with sound business skills and a professional attitude."
