WOODFORD GREEN: Man to stand trial for manslaughter

Murder charges against a City of London Police officer have been dropped as another man prepares to stand trial.

Product designer Rick Maynard, 27, of Woodford Green, Essex, is due to appear at the Old Bailey accused of manslaughter.

However, no evidence will be offered against Pc Adam Lowe, 27, over the death of barrister's clerk Lee Cook at the Alibi bar in Shoe Lane last July.

Lowe, of Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, remains suspended from duty.
