Chelsea siege: Gunman's post-mortem results due
The result of a post-mortem examination into the death of a barrister after an armed siege by police in Chelsea is expected to be released.
Mark Saunders, 32, died after a five-hour stand-off with armed police in Markham Square.
Britain's police watchdog is investigating the incident. It has not been confirmed whether the man was shot dead by officers.
Police laid siege to the house for five hours after reports of a man firing shots in the house there shortly before 5pm on Tuesday.
Police returned fire, and at about 9.45pm four explosions, thought to be stun grenades, were heard.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said that the police exchanged gunfire several times with the man.
Firearms officers eventually entered a house and found Mr Saunders. He was taken outside and given first aid, but was later pronounced dead at the scene.
