Schoolboy dies in street stabbing
Killed: Amro Elbadawi
Killed: Amro Elbadawi

A schoolboy has died after being stabbed in north London with police arresting a 16-year-old boy for questioning about the attack.

Officers were called to the Queens Park Health Centre, Dart Street in north Kensington on Thursday afternoon and discovered Amro Elbadawi, 14, lying near the pavement.

He was taken to a central London hospital by paramedics where he was pronounced dead.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested and was being questioned about Amro's death at a police station in north London.

Police said they were keeping an open mind over the motive behind the attack on Amro, who lived on the Mozart Estate in west London.

DCI Andy Mortimer from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command who is leading the investigation said. "Amro's life has been cut short in a needless manner before it has really begun. He was loved by his family and friends who are devastated by today's events. I would urge anyone who may have information to come forward and help us with our investigation".

On the same day, a 17-year-old died after being attacked in Stamford Hill, north London.

Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
