The UK's first ever business centre dedicated to women has been launched in the capital.
The Businessworks centre which is located at Newham College in High Street South, was launched earlier this month with East Ham MP Stephen Timms there to mark the occasion.
It has been created as part of the Government's plans to pilot women's business centres across the nation.
Speaking at the launch, Di Gowland, director of Newham College's Centre for Innovation and Partnerships, said: "Our intention with the Women's Business Centre is to provide a service that transforms women's lives."
Facilities include one-to-one and group coaching, networking opportunities and purpose-built workshop spaces. The centre aims to support women from all levels of business, from start up to pre-existing companies.
