A WOOLWICH man has been jailed after cashing in cheques worth £33,000 stolen from illusionist Derren Brown.

Bernard Ayanbanjo, of Waverley Road, paid the money into his own bank account after Mr Brown’s cleaner stole two blank signed cheques from the TV personality’s Baker Street home.

The 48-year-old was sentenced to 16 months in prison at Southwark Crown Court last Friday (October 19).

He had previously denied two counts of fraud but was convicted by a jury last month.

Mr Brown’s cleaner Rocio Pavon-Nararrete, 47, from Greenwich, was jailed for the same amount of time for theft on October 11 after admitting stealing the cheques.
