Staff and pupils at Stanley Primary School received a bronze sculpture in memory of a member of staff who died two years ago.
Lynne Hill was the school’s finance officer for 15 years and the bronze sculpture was given to the school by her husband Peter Hill and daughter Lucy Hill.
The sculpture is entitled Reading Figure and is by artist Carol Peace.
Headteacher Ian Dickinson said: “This is a wonderful and very fitting memorial to Lynne, combining her love of reading and art. The children are very taken with the beautiful sculpture and the message about the love of reading it conveys.”
