Lost photos found at Swanley Asda returned to owner
5:20pm Wednesday 17th October 2012 in News By Robert Fisk
THE power of News Shopper's website has today helped to reunite some lost photos with their owner.
Earlier, we posted some pictures from a memory card which was discovered by a News Shopper employee outside the Asda supermarket in Swanley.
The card contained many happy memories including baby pictures, a trip to Buckingham Palace and to Port Lympne Wild Animal Park, so we were keen to help get the photos back to who they belonged to.
We asked if anyone recognised the people in the pictures, and within an hour of the article being posted we were contacted by the owner of the memory card.
It will be collected tomorrow - so a happy ending to the tale.

Personally, I'd lost a load of cherished photos, I'd be happy that the local paper did this as it means I'd be reunited with it. Otherwise, there's no real way of getting this back to the rightful owner.

But it's just a picture of some random kid. Maybe don't believe everything you read in the daily fail about pedos and pictures of kids. This is not the type the pedos would be after. Not to mention the million pictures of kids that can be seen already on the internet.

i know they are doing a good deed and appreciate that, but surely now the owner has been found and have been asked by me the parent of some of the children to remove my childrens pic from the site they can remove the pics of the children, they do not need to be on there any longer. And would you like your kids pics on a website where they can be easily copied and forwarded etc onto god knows who for god knows wot purpose! I do not see why they cannot now be removed now that the good deed has been done!

The point im making is that being a parent of the children in the pics i think im within my rights to ask that the pics of my children are removed seeing as the memory card has been returned! As they are no longer need to be on here...funny how u cant see that part isnt it!

No one has said you're a bad parent. Were did you get that from? I think you're a little deluded to think that a paedophile would want these pictures.
What harm is it doing having these pictures on the here? It no worst than someone taken a picture of their child and your children also being in the picture. Like say at a party or in the park.

I am not arguing anymore, the fact is I did not want my children's pic to be on here any longer than necessary and feel that I am perfectly entitled to have that opinion. If you can't see that then you are the deluded one!
Anyway they have gone now.............or did some one copy them?????

And I'm sure they would find a better source of pictures than the News Shopper
By continually adding comments you're actually creating more interest. If you'd simply called NS & left it at that this article would have dropped off the page within a day. It's now heading to the top of the "most commented" list

I believe the mum in this instance was right to ask for the photos to be removed.

No-one has suggested you're a bad parent, but despite what some of the more sensational press may suggest there isn't a paedophile around every corner.

If I was to get a photo of an MP or Banker and stick pins into it, would that they feel the pain ? No.
B) No one has said she has no right to ask.
Anyway happy days the photos have gone.

Do you honestly think pedo's scour newspapers to find a picture of a kid and then photo shop their face onto another kids photo.
You mums are so overprotective, and you could even say pathetic.
You better put a bag over your kids head when they are in public, just incase.

As a mum, I'd rather err on the side of "Just in case".
Would I put a bag over my kids heads - now that really would be silly. Perhaps you wear one .........I won't ask where! X

Lost photos at ASDA - A mum (not necessarily the one who owned the memory stick) asked NS to remove photo's of her kids and her request was initially refused (but now thankfully acceded to)!
Ms and Miss Chavette from school with mobile phone - some parents did not want photo's of their kids associated with that particular story. Photo's of their kids were not associated with the news item and were included by NS without their permission. Again parents were within their rights to ask for their kids photos to be removed.
Children don't have the right to reply - they usually depend on an adult to make the 'right decisions' on their behalf. I'd rather be a parent who was aware of the sometimes not very nice world we live in than one who didn't care whether my kids were out robbing, maiming or worse.
I'm glad my previous comment about pedophiles amused you.
And to a previous poster, no you're probably right they don't troll rags like NS for their happy pics, they usually prey on Facebook. How many people post their family snaps there to share with family, friends and ......whoever!
So in a nutshell that's why some parents are so vociferous about their kids privacy and I can only hope you understand why. My opinion only. Goodnight.
