Students at Richmond Park Academy donned nuns’ outfits and performed sections from Sister Act during the school’s open evening.
Hundreds of visiting families were also entertained by performances from buskers playing instruments including flute, keyboard and clarinet at the evening on Wednesday, October 3.
Headteacher Lesley Kirby said: “It went really well because the children have a real sense of confidence about the school.
“The improved school results mean they feel really positive about their academy and they say they’re very proud to be part of an academy.”
School ambassadors took parents and children on tours of the school and there were invited to join in taster lessons in The Acorn – the school’s dedicated year 7 learning base.
David Triggs, CEO of the Academies Enterprise Trust, gave a speech at the evening, as well as the head boy and girl Alex Jurukov and Faye Hahlo.
