Twickenham man denies drug dealing charge
6:00am Monday 15th October 2012 in News By Rachel Bishop
A suspected drug dealer has been arrested and charged after a police raid allegedly uncovered thousands of pounds worth of drugs and a substantial amount of cash.
Daniel Williams, of Whitehead Court in Twickenham, was charged with being in possession of 2.3g of cocaine, 567g of cannabis and a large amount of cash, believed to be about £4,000.
The raid on Monday, October 8, was carried out as part of Operation Hawk, targeting suspected drug dealers in the area.
Detective Inspector Andy Dunn, from Twickenham police, said: “So far the results are very encouraging, but if anyone has any information contact Crimestoppers.
“This is all part of the Metropolitan Police’s total war on crime and is an ongoing commitment.”
Mr Williams attended South Western Magistrates’ Court on October 9, where he pleaded not guilty to possession of cannabis, cocaine and the cash.
He is on conditional bail and will return to court on Tuesday, November 20.
His conditions include a curfew between 8pm and 6am, which is electronically monitored, to report to Teddington police station between 8am and noon on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and to live and sleep at an address in Barland Road.
On October 9, the defendant produced a £5,000 bail deposit.
