A mother-of-one has become the proud owner of a new beauty salon after years of hard work juggling training with motherhood from the age of 17.
Gemma Paine, now in her 30s, is the owner of Totally U Beauty in east Twickenham, having started working toward her goal at a young age.
Ms Paine said: “At the age of the age of 17, I was living in a council flat, a bored mum of one. I wanted to start a career in something I loved.”
She completed several part-time courses, fitting them around caring for her son, and started working in a members-only spa when her son was a little older.
She then felt confident enough to venture out on her own and start up her own business.
She added: “My business is my whole life as are my family and things are going from strength to strength.”
