Comedian Jo Brand backs Kew care home manager's award

Comedian Jo Brand was among those who congratulated a Kew care home manager for winning an award after she lived in a dementia section of a care home.

Fiona Sadaat, care home manager of 45-bedroom Cecil Court in Kew, won a management excellence award after she lived in every division of the care home.

She cut contact with her family and friends so she could fully appreciate the isolation sometimes experienced by people living in care.

Ms Sadaat said: “It is a real honour to win the management excellence award and completely unexpected. I couldn’t have done it without my amazing team of staff, and of course, the residents of Cecil Court.”

Adrian Eggington, Central & Cecil’s executive director of resident services, praised Ms Sadaat for her hard work.

He said: “Fiona puts her heart and soul into everything she does and is always thinking of new and innovative ideas to improve the lives of people in her care.”
