The Howard Memorial, on the corner of The Street and The Marld, in Ashtead, was vandalised
A 19th Century memorial recognising the work of a generous resident has been vandalised.
Graffiti was sprayed on the Howard Memorial, on the corner of the The Street and The Marld, in Ashtead, on Sunday, September 23, at 4am.
The monument is dedicated to local benefactor Mary Greville Howard and was erected in 1880 to recognise her contribution to Ashtead Village.
