Make your own house at Elmbridge Museum
7:00am Wednesday 3rd October 2012 in News By Laura Proto
Get building: Elmbridge Museum family fun day
Elmbridge has a rich and diverse architectural heritage and if you take a look around, you will notice the influence that architects and master builders had in giving local towns and villages their distinctive character.
If you fancy becoming an architect yourself, why not try constructing your own scale model of a building at the Elmbridge Museum Family Fun Day?
You can create your very own house or take inspiration from the many spectacular buildings around the borough. The choice is yours to build a tower, castle or family home.
Councillor Jan Fuller, portfolio holder for leisure and culture, said: “This fun workshop at the museum will help families rediscover and appreciate the great architecture of their local towns.
“Why don’t you give your child the chance to create its own amazing building and show it off to his/her relatives and friends?"
Build your own house is part of a series of family fun days organised by Elmbridge Museum every month, next one taking place on Saturday, October 13, from 2pm to 4.30pm. Children must be accompanied by an adult and a charge of £1.50 per child applies.
